Hello sue
My name is simone I lived at Number 21 hyde park gate when i was a kid loved it. We went to seleter october 2011 and its all blocked off ready to be demolished. Does anyone have a photo of this house? So sad! thankyou its such a beautiful area. memories

You may be interested to know that there is an RAF Seletar Association who arrange trips to Singapore every 1-2 years to walk down memory lane and take in the NEW that Singapore offers.

i lived in 3 hampstead gardens in 1966/67 my family corpral john taylor royal signals and mum sherley my older brother david and younger sister beverley, i dont remember much about school there i remember the golf course and swimming pool, if any one knew us we had a little fruit monkey as a pet and you would only get past her judy if you gave her malteasers, we use to have the coconut tree in the front garden and a guy use to come and get the coconuts down for us, i have some old photos around if any one is intrested,

How nice to hear from you. One of the camp traditions is to walk around and get to know your neighbours! People are naturally friendlier in Seletar. Annabelle at 4 Mornington Crescent and Littly at 5 Mornington Crescent may be able to link you in to some play groups and activities. Warm wishes

We are new residents to Seletar estate. We have 2 kids aged 4 & 6.

We would love to meet other parents with children this age group for regular playdates and chit chat, or just do something fun in the sun together in this lovely green neighborhood.

The fate of Orang Seletar, the indigenous sea people of coastal johore is uncertain. Worst when they were caught in hard-core poverty line while still carry on their tradiational food gathering activities along the already polluted coastal line. Their resettlement land belongs to be Sultan but the pressure of urbanisation by Iskandar development might forced them to be relocated once again. Who is there to defend their rights? no one.

I realise I may not have replied to you and I am very sorry about that. How wonderful to have lived there! In my time, it was a swimming and tennis club and I dreamed of running it myself. I am not sure of its fate now. Could I find out where you live? Some of your snapshots would be wonderful – we could scan them and put them on this website. If you could email me at susan.amy181@gmail, I could send you some more recent photos of 3 Park Lane.
And how about joining the RAF Seletar Association? They are an active community who meet regularly and sometimes make trips to Singapore. Their newsletter is always crammed with stories and pictures of the RAF Seletar days.

Peter, As well as Membership secretary for the RAF Seletar Association I also wrote the history of Seletar – Crowning Glory – and would be interested to know if you have any data that might be of help for an update. Any documents, photos, personal recollections etc, all are valuable, especially now that the base is more or less defunct. I was a good friend of Grp Cpt Maisner, the last RAF CO, and he helped a lot, albeit that he was suffering form Parkinsons disease, and as a result unable to converse very well. He loaned me all his albums, and contributed in so many other ways.
I do have some good photographs of No1 Park Lane, as well as video footage.
